Glen Nielsen – Treasurer

Glen Nielsen has been a dedicated IHSA official for 32 years, with 30 years specifically devoted to volleyball officiating. His distinguished high school career includes officiating the girls IHSA State Finals on two occasions, representing the pinnacle of Illinois high school volleyball competition.

Since 2016, Glen has expanded his expertise to collegiate volleyball, serving in multiple capacities as referee, line judge, and scorekeeper across various levels of competition. His collegiate contributions reached a significant milestone in 2024 when he served as the official scorekeeper for the NEC tournament, demonstrating his versatility and trusted judgment in critical championship environments.

Glen maintains active membership in PAVO (Professional Association of Volleyball Officials) and participates in several officiating communities throughout the greater Chicago area, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development and community engagement within the volleyball officiating fraternity.

Beyond his officiating career, Glen serves as a financial coach in his professional life and dedicates time to community service through his church’s outreach program involving smoked pork distribution. He resides in the northern suburbs with his wife Kelly, balancing his passion for volleyball officiating with his commitment to family and community service.
