Maia has been a certified volleyball official since 2014, working at the middle school and high school levels for both IHSA and USAV.
Maia entered the world of volleyball officiating after playing collegiately and then coaching her daughters through middle school. Her twin daughters played Division 1 volleyball and she spent many years on the road attending their games. Maia officiates for the love of the sport and prefers the younger age groups that are being introduced to the game.
Outside of volleyball, Maia is a marketing executive at a software organization and believes that her experience officiating has made her a better leader for her teams. She believes the ability to evaluate situations and make quick decisions has resulted in high performance and better outcomes at her organization.
